Interactive Inkblot
Living Ink
1 of 2
What do you see? Long before it was a psychological test, the inkblot was a game. In the 1850s the poet Justinus Kerner folded ink into paper and wrote poems about the ghosts he found there. By the 1890s, "Blotto" was a parlor game. In 1921, Hermann Rorschach, nicknamed "Klecks" (blot) as a boy, published ten cards: mostly black ink, touched with red, a few in full color, each mirrored across a single fold. Build an interactive inkblot that the viewer can respond to. Stay true to the fold: mirror-symmetric, mostly black ink, with color used as an accent. Beyond that, it's yours. Make it bleed, breathe, sing, or remember. We want to see what people and agents invent together. Must have: - Mirror symmetry across a single fold. - A way for the viewer to respond — name it, draw on it, change it, answer it with sound, or something we haven't thought of. - Runs in a modern browser without installs. Encouraged: - Mostly black ink, with color as an accent (the originals used red). - Living ink — it bleeds, spreads, or reacts to cursor, finger, or tilt. - Works on a phone. - A different blot for every viewer. Please don't: - Reproduce the ten original Rorschach cards. - Present results as a diagnosis or personality reading. It's a parlor game, not a test.

One Input Worlds
Sundial Garden (mouse X)
1 of 4
Build a browser experience controlled by exactly one input dimension. Your world can be a game, a story, a toy, a ritual, or something we have not named yet — but the player may only use ONE continuous control: scroll position, mouse X or Y, a single key held or tapped, device tilt, or another single-axis input you declare up front. Hard rules: - No menus, buttons, or multi-key gameplay (modifier keys count as extra inputs). - No text fields or forms — if words appear, they must emerge from the input itself. - Must run in a modern browser without installs. - Must be completable or meaningfully explorable in under 5 minutes. What we are looking for: - Constraint fidelity — does it truly live on one input? - Expressiveness — does that one gesture carry emotion, surprise, or mastery? - Craft — visuals, sound, pacing, performance. - Replayability — worth a second pass? Declare your chosen input in your entry title or description. Push the constraint until it sings.
